How long has your guild been together?
The guild has been together since Everquest.
Ascent was first formed in the spring of 2001, during the Scars of Velious expansion in Everquest. It was formed from a group of players from two allied guilds, Exiled Legion and Avatars of Discord. Jager was a GM of AoD at one point, and ended up joining Ascent during WoW beta and served as GM of Ascent for a period of time himself.
Most of the leadership of Ascent came from the Exiled Legion side, EL disbanded and AoD continued on as competition to Ascent. Ascent led the Rodcet Nife server through the Planes of Power expansion being a top 5 guild in EQ. Part way through Gates of Discord, we moved to WoW Beta as a guild, and picked alliance for the closed beta. We had a much contested vote between alliance and horde, and went horde for the open portion of the beta and into retail choosing Medivh as our server.
Do you have a large, stable core of raiders or is your turn over high with a smaller core.
I'd have to say the answer to that probably lies somewhere between those two. We don't have a "huge" core of stable members, but there are plenty of us that have been around for a while. Our turnover throughout Black Temple and Sunwell was pretty high, as I imagine it was for most guilds, but we haven't had to rebuild from the ground up or anything like that. Our officer core has remained extremely solid.
