Rogue Q&A

Author: inwowgold Source: http://www.inwowgold.com

Rogues certainly are elusive, agile and quite deadly as well. As the next to last Q&A in a series World of Warcraft has been posting for months. Rogues to some extent see little changes.
Similar to other Q&A, we see specific abilities and talents called out such as Vanish, Hunger for Blood and Shadow Dance are good examples.
Vanish isn't noted working right especially when a pet is sent after a Rogue as he's vanishing.
Vanish isn't working properly and breaks when you breathe on the Rogue funny. There are two problems with fixing it. One is that technically it's just not easy. The solution we like the most is something like Vanish puts you in stealth for 1 second minimum no matter what else happen.
Hunger for Blood as a talent in the Assassination tree is out there to increase a Rogue's damage in PvE without making it much better in PvP.
In the long run, we want it to be a more reactive ability; just like something you make use of depending on the situation but use often in a fight and not just a passive damage buff that requires a lot of management. We'd also like to get it back into PvP.
As for Shadow Dance, it is simply said that there's no going back to what it was before.
Shadow dance is one kind of niche ability. On the one hand, it provides you with a guaranteed cheapshot while fully dotted, being attacked and so on, which is a dream in terms of reliability of target swapping. Moreover, it is great because the cool-down is nice and short, so it can be used twice in most arenas. This means your swap opportunities are doubled by a single ability. Whereas previously, target swaps were 90% based upon whether the Rogue could land a cheap shot, they are now based off of shadow dance and cheap shot.
On the other hand, there is a downside to spec'ing into Shadow dance; first, you've to give up the new fleet footed, quick recovery which is surely an amazing talent for Rogues playing in a setup that relies even slightly on endurance and cold blood. Chances are the sacrifice is worth it in that case, but there is one other aspect that irks us about shadow dance. Before they put five point relentless strikes ability into subtlety, Rogues were pretty much forced into a back stab centric spec because the other point dumps were simply horrible.
The repeated snare-breaks from chain-Vanish were way too good and made the Rogue immune to snares and roots for the duration of Shadow Dance. It wasn't intended to be Bladestorm.
