You will choose a starting city after you have finished choosing your race and name. The worst of this is with city that you choose, you will only be provided with certain races for that city. Before continuing as this is another permanent choice, once again you should spend some time looking over a race/class guide. When someone is a newbie, all the important decisions are smacked right in the beginning. Do you love it, don't you? You will either end up on one of the following cities known as such as Outpost of the Overlord, The Nursery of Greater Faydark, Darklight Woods or Queen's Colony.
When you first enter the game you will be presented with dialogs that tell you a bit about your starting location and the class you have chosen. These dialogs will direct you to your guild master who will start you on your journey in Norrath.
In the course of talking with your guild master or other learned members of your chosen profession, many things will be revealed to you. The most important information will be captured in your quest journal for your reference later should you need it. Keep in mind that the journal will only capture the essentials; when questing, you may wish to keep your own notes to supplement your quest journal. This is not a necessity, but you may find it helpful.
Also, should you find that you cannot continue a quest with the information you have gathered, or you are not clear on the next step in order to proceed, you can remove a quest from your journal and revisit the individual who originally assigned it and start over.
Once you've completed your character creation I strongly suggest exploring the buttons and speaking to every NPC in your town and learn as much as you can from each person. I also strongly suggest you save every gold you make early on the game. Saving the EQ2 gold early can provide a better cause in the future. A good way to get the early gears is by questing, grab every possible quest you can to help you level, collect gold, get fully geared and experience up. It would be wise to spend some time within the newbie areas to get to know the game and your character better.
You will want to learn more of the characters abilities and racial attributes to help develop your character even further as long as you get to know the basics. You would aslo want to spend some time to know the enemies home as well and learn of their strengths and flaws. You will also need to gain status for yourself and your guild. The biggest advantage you get with the status has to spend less gold on housing, mounts and other perks. I hope this little startup guide will help you a long way. Enjoy EverQuest 2.
It is tricky and difficult to start EverQuest 2 and it may take a lot of time if you are going to the MMORPG world for the first time, you have no idea what is going on. Above all, you'll have to create a character, keep in mind that the name you give to your character will be permanent so make sure that it is something that is satisfying to you and it doesn't violate any of SOE's terms otherwise they may ban your name. You will first start by selecting your race, I strongly suggest reading over some race guides which gives you an overview of each race and their stats.
