As soon as you log into Ever Quest, remember to click the run button. Then just keep it on run from there on. There is really no reason to walk in EQ. Running is OK.
In this game, the cities and zones are really huge, and it's very hard to memorize every single piece of them. In my opinion you should at least get familiar with where to run if something bad happen.
Learn which monsters are best for small grinding good gold, and which give high amount of experience points. Good grinding spot is always very valuable thingy, you can use it later, playing other class etc. In every zone you can find interesting monster.
