Many of these changes are already active in the beta and have been announced in patch notes or in the World of Warcraft forums, but Street was able to go through each class and explain some of the design team's thinking.
Hunters: The pet system is getting an overhaul, so players won't have to stable their pets and tame others just to learn new abilities (a big help to casual players). Shot rotations are being cleaned up, so serious Hunter players won't need to use mods to time their shots perfectly. A new "Freezing Shot" ability will allow hunters to perform a crowd control function without the bother of setting up traps and pulling creatures. Finally, the "Disengage" ability gives the class a last-ditch method of slipping out of the grasp of melee players, which should impact the balance of power in arenas.
Priests: High-level Shadow Priests were often stuck acting as mana batteries in group situations instead of actually doing real damage, so tweaks will be made to the Shadow Priest talents to allow them to act as a pure DPS class. Meanwhile, the Discipline tree will have abilities that will actually allow a Discipline Priest to heal a raid. A new ability -- "Mind Sear" -- gives Priests a chance of throwing down big damage to a creature and all the creatures around it. Most interestingly, Priest racial abilities (like the Undead's "Devouring Plague") are being removed from the game. Street explained that it was frustrating for players to be locked into playing a specific race just to get a certain ability.
Mages: The design team really wanted to make mages a More viable DPS class, which meant tweaking the Frost and Fire trees. Probably the embodiment of this is the new "Frostfire" spell, delivering a big hit. Something else that'll help Mages unleash the whupass is a new "Mirror Image" ability, cloning the character and allowing a ferocious damage output. The team sees this as a real signature move to help make Mages stand out.
Druids: Moonkin Druids were useless when they ran out of mana, which was easy to do, leading to all the "OOMkin" jokes. The team is tweaking the mana usage to make sure Moonkin Druids are more viable in group situations or raids. Restoration Druids are getting new heals, a new Flash Heal and a new area-effect heal to make the class more viable as a main healer. Finally, the Feral Druid tree is being adjusted to help out Druids in cat or bear form. Depending on how you spend your talents, the bear form can now be an effective main tank or the cat form can more effectively replace the Rogue. If players prefer being flexible, they can tweak their talents accordingly.
Shamans: As mentioned above, Shaman totems are being rejiggered and combined so that players can be more effective with less totems. They're also harder to dispel. The most talked-about new Shaman ability is the "Hex" spell, which can frog your opponents and will act as a genuine crowd-control ability.
