Is it necessary for Druids need a revamp? Online most of the players find that the Druid class needs to be reworked. As a fan of this class, we find it important to make a clear statement what the players need in the world.
Mainly the forms of the Druid class are simply watered down versions of the parent class but groups and players alike need some incentive to pick a Druid over a pure class.
For the most part, the Druid is supposed to take on the role of a healer and mage in this form. Right now, the mana pool is just too low for the Druid to be an effective substitute for either of these classes.
Our healing spells need to be reworked. The only way to correct the Druid's role as Priest is to make ours HoT much more efficient than our instant heals. Thus, if you want an abundance of large, quick heals, you will still have to look for a Priest. The Druid will serve its own unique purpose as a tougher version of a priest with better melee capabilities. As a Mage, the Druid is somewhat effective. The only downside is the lack of value found in wrath and starfire. Right now, both spells serve the exact same purpose with starfire being slightly more mana efficient and wrath having a faster cast time. For our part, starfire should be changed to an AoE spell, which would mend the Druid's lack thereof and the name should change to "Starfall. In this way, wrath will serve as the Druid's primary DD spell, starfire/starfall will fill the AOE gap and moonfire would be our DOT spell. These changes will significantly improve the Druid's capability of filling in for casters or Priests.
In the stickiest situation, for Druids, the designed purpose of the animal forms was to fill in for other classes in a group, specifically that of the Rogue and Warrior. The forms were not supposed to be as effective as the parent class, but currently they are so watered down that Druids don't want to use the forms and groups have no use for them. In general, Blizzard should seriously consider allowing the various forms to have both a mana bar with slightly slower regeneration than normal and a class specific bar, which would allow Druids limited access to its core spells such as Heals, damage spells and so on.
