Large raid parties can be confusing. Before, raid players never had to worry about sharing the duties of their class with others of the same class in the same group. In a raid, the warrior is faced with sharing the role of tank with other warriors. Confusion can ensue if guidelines and rules are not set up before the raids begin.

Step1 The warriors should discuss with their raid leader who will be first tank (FT) and who will be second tank (ST).
The first tank usually takes on all the responsibilities that a warrior would have in any group.
The second tank is usually used as a damage dealer and as a back-up if the first tank is overwhelmed. The second tank can also be used as the guard for the healer.
Step2 If no one can decide who should be first tank, then the there are several ways to decide. You may want to simply roll on the position. A better way to decide though, is to compare armor ratings, because, of course, the better the armor rating, the better the tank.
Step3 Make sure to always pay attention to who is drawing aggro if you are the tank. You will need to pull the aggro off of others.
Step4 Even if you are DPS you may be called upon to be an OT. Always carry a shield with you and if possible, a set of tank gear.

First and foremost, you should make use of shield. Firstly, you are a tank, not a rogue or mage, you're not there to do damage. If you don't have a shield or a one hander then do not try to be main tank. As for generating more threat, that's the worst excuse as shield bash generates way more than any attack with a 2 hander will, and as the name suggests, it needs a shield.
