Death Knight Leveling Specs

Author: inwowgold Source: http://www.inwowgold.com

When leveling your Death Knight in Wrath of the Lich King, there are two options for you. They are as follows:
Blood leveling spec is speccing Unholy. By speccing Unholy you gain a lot of power for area of effect attacks, which allows you to pull a number of enemies and kill them at the same time. The down side is that after each large pull you will have to stop to eat or bandage.
Speccing Blood allows you to have nearly zero down time. What we mean by this is that the talents in the Blood tree allow you to heal yourself enough on single mob pulls so that you do not need to stop to eat or bandage between each mob.
If you spec your talents in the Blood tree, your style of play will have two defining features. The first is that your main attack uses only one rune, resulting in you doing more attacks albeit less strong. The second is that, in comparison to the other trees, a large amount of your damage is physical and not magical.
When speccing Blood you have two clear choices resulting in different spell rotations - though the specs are very close in final DPS output.
Unholy leveling spec is really one of your preferred play-style. Do you prefer to chain pull single mobs without having to stop and wait, or would you rather pull groups of mobs (killing them at the same time) with down time between each pull. The speed of leveling is roughly the same between the two, so it is very much a matter of personal style of play or maybe there is a specific ability you lust after in one of the trees.
Whenever they are off cool-down, you would use it to replace Death Coil in your rotation, while maintaining the rest of the rotation. Whenever you reach the Death Coil part of the cycle, it is intended that you use Death Coil until all your Runic Power is expended, or is less than 40 Runic Power. Dancing Rune Weapon and Gargoyle are Runic Power drain spells, so don't worry if you have Runic Power left after casting it
On the hand, 50/0/21 spec is based around the Gargoyle as the primary runic power use. Beyond the Gargoyle the spec picks up many useful talents to improve the Death Knight's damage, resulting in a very solid spec for damage. However, a sacrifice is made in the spell rotation due to the absence of Annihilation.
On the other hand 51/13/7 spec replaces the Gargoyle with Dancing Rune Weapon. The spell rotation is more effective than that of the other Blood DPS spec, however the down side is the 'wasted' talent points that need to be spent to reach Annihilation.
As Frost DPS Spec, the advantage of specing frost is the large amount of damage that is done that is spell damage. This spell damage has the advantage over physical attacks of by-passing armor mitigation (Unholy does even more of its damage as spell damage). If you are after large numbers, Frost is for you as it has the big hit abilities, though this is averaged out over the abilities to ensure that overall the damage is in line with other specs.
For Unholy DPS Spec, Unholy has two defining features as DPS. The first is that it has many talents that improve your area of effect damage significantly. On any multi-mob fights Unholy has a significant advantage. The second is that Unholy, out of the three talent trees, has the highest percentage of damage as spell damage. Unholy Death Knights will thus find that they have a distinct advantage on any fights against mobs with high armor.
