Hume and Elvaan Race Guide in FFXI

Author: inwowgold Source: http://www.inwowgold.com

Here we will take this opportunity to make mention of two races like the Hume and Elvaan for you. If you are a beginner in the Final Fantasy XI, this information is very helpful. Let us get down to both of them right now.
On the one hand, Hume is conceivably the most versatile race in the whole of Vana'diel. They are closer to humans in their characteristics than any other race in Vana'diel. The Hume is real 'all-rounder' when it comes to their abilities. So this race may be your best pick if you are not sure of the job role you will take or if you want to try out different jobs as you progress. However, the Hume is a 'jack-of-all-trades' kind of race and they will never be proficient in one art like the other more specialized races.
The Hume are the most well rounded race out of all the others one due to their characteristics. Any class is suited for a Hume.
Black Mage is a good choice for the Hume. With high agility, vitality and HP, they keep their survivability very high. Additionally their high intelligence and MP keep the Hume casting and doing consistent damage.
Monk is not the best job for Hume. They require high strength, dexterity and vitality. A Hume can make a good Monk, but you’ll need expensive gear to keep up to par.
The Red Mage job fit Hume like a glove. Red Mage requires a diverse array of stats, and the Hume has just what is required. Good melee and casting abilities round out this job.
Hume makes very good Thieves. They have average dexterity and agility, which helps with damage and evasion, and strength for their melee attacks.
Hume is great Warriors. Their stats make for high HP, evasion, tanking and damage dealing. They don't die fast and are versatile.
Hume has in abundance what White Mages need. Solid mind, HP, MP, vitality and agility all make for a good White Mage. Hume White Mages have powerful heals and lots of them, plus the needed survivability.
On the other hand, The Elvaan is one of the five beginner races in Vana'diel. The name Elvaan is a plural variant on the word elf.
The Elvaan are tall, elegant and snobby. Most of them are knights and proficient swordfighters. However, San d'Oria is a strictly Elvaan city, any race can start there.
Elvaan have high strength, vitality and mind. They also have decent HP, MP and dexterity. The jobs that make most use of these stats are Paladin, White Mage, Warrior and Monk. Elvaan have low agility and intelligence, reducing magic damage and evasion.
Elvaan make poor Black Mages. Low agility and strength make for low magic damage and low survivability. Average MP doesn't help much. Expensive gear is required to play a Black Mage.
Elvaan make picture perfect Monks, which they have high strength, mind, vitality and HP. Low dexterity makes hit rate a little worse, but inexpensive gear can help.
For Elvaan, Red Mage is a good choice. High strength helps with melee damage and high mind causes good healing. Elvaan are low on MP and intelligence but this is easily remedied by gear.
Elvaan make decent Thieves. High strength increases damage over time, however low agility and dexterity hurt Trick Attack and Sneak Attack. Moderate HP and vitality increase survivability.
The most popular Elvaan job is Warrior. Elvaan have high strength and vitality to help with damage dealing and mitigation. A good HP helps survivability. Dexterity gear should be obtained if possible.
Elvaan have high mind, vitality and HP, but have low MP. Their high mind stat results in strong healing. Vitality and HP make for good survivability but low MP means not much healing. Elvaan make powerful White Mages.
As above, Hume is a great race to choose if you aren't positive what job you want to play. The ability to switch to any job and be proficient makes Hume a great choice and Elvaan are more suited for melee oriented jobs and are great for beginner Warriors and Monks. Which one is better for you, we think, it is up to you to make a choice because both have strengths and weaknesses.
