Leveling Up Shaman Class Tips

Author: inwowgold Source: http://www.inwowgold.com

When the Burning Crusade expansion came out, Alliance players were given the Shaman until the Horde players had that point. As we all know that Shamans are a hybrid class to have, which means they are able to cast spells, or fight with melee weapons, or act as a healer, depending on how you arrange the talent spec.
Either you want to go with a caster or a melee fighter specialization for leveling, because it is difficult to leveling up a healer and not very fun. You can build your Shaman into a caster by putting your talent points into the Elemental talent tree. You make your character into a melee fighter by putting talent points into the Enhancement tree.
Shamans start the game with a mace and a shield. You can train in most of the other weapon types, but not swords. You can duel-wield weapons, but it's a talent in the Enhancement talent tree, which works if you're into melee damage.
The weapon and shield setup works great for a caster, because it gives you more armor. And more armor means that you can survive a few more hits while you cast Chain Lightning.
In tune with nature, they fight using the elements. So they use instant-cast spells called Shocks: Earth Shock, Fire Shock, and the ever-popular Frost Shock.
Shamans come with totems. You earn each of the four elemental totems by doing quests. Early on, before level 5, you get the Earth totem, which is about defense and making you stronger.
To get the Fire totem at your level 10, this has all kinds of neat offensive spells.
To get the Water totem at your level 20, which does nice things like heal you and restore mama.
To get the Wind totem at your level 30, this is the wildcard of the bunch. It gives you spells to increase your damage, reduce ranged damage taken, and other fun things like give you nature resistance.
For the most part, Shamans get are Ghost Wolf and Astral Recall. Ghost Wolf allows you to shape shift into a transparent wolf and gives you a twenty percent speed increase. Astral Recall lets you teleport back to your home town or city every fifteen minutes, as opposed to the hour you must wait to use your hearthstone.
To spec Enchancement is one way to level when you reach level 60, then respec to Elemental when you get to Outland. That gives you more range because the Outland monsters hit really hard and powers up your spells. Once you reach level 60, you'll know whether you'd rather cast or get in and whale away with your melee weapons.
You should take a hybrid Elemental/Restoration build seriously when you want to play a healer. You can get some of the healing talents and the spell damage talents, so you can still kill monsters out in the world, but have enough healing power and mana to heal your buddies in a dungeon. This works better past level 60, because you have more talent points.
It is fun to level Shamans and they give you multiple options when it comes to killing monsters. They are good to have in a group or a dungeon because their totems buff up everybody. If you take great interest in playing a caster, you can try to play Shaman class at first.
