The first time we remembered that we became a Night Elf to learn Priest skills and all the others made fun of us.
It took us a while to figure it out but everywhere we turned there was an NE Hunter running around in Darnassus. So out of curiosity we deleted the Priest and tried to figure what all the hoopla was about surrounding this class. Once we figured out how to get the perfect build, it all came together.
You will want to focus on the Marksmanship abilities while the Beast Mastery and Survival trees can be helpful during the early stages. Here the main objective is to work your way down the list and max out with the Chimera Shot. This ability is sick in a good way, since it gives off 125% weapon damage. You should add in the extra boost to your entire Sting effects such as Serpent, Viper, Scorpion and your enemies will be at a huge disadvantage.
There are others that are very important to make use of even though this is the most exciting ability on the tree. As a matter of fact, there are a ton of them and to list everything would take forever. So this time around we're going to give you a list of things you should skip over during your building process and not even worry about unless you want them.
Lethal Shot (0/5)
Go for the Throat (0/2)
Efficiency (0/5)
Combat Experience (0/2)
Wild Quiver (0/3)
It is important for you to place 4/5 in the Marked for Death under the Marksmanship tree, which will leave you with a total of 11 points to play with in the Survival and Beast Mastery section, this will be important for the list below. You have the ability to change this to your own specification is one thing to understand but we found that this combination can be quite effective when trying to level faster.
Having Hawkeye (3/3) full will allow you to gain six yards on the range of all your ranged weapons.
If you spend 5 points here, you will have the chance to increase your range speed by 15%. We are not a big fan of having a chance to do anything but the Improved Aspect of the Hawk (5/5) seems to happen more than the 10% of the time Wow suggests. It will last for 12 seconds when activated.
Using the Thick Hide (3/3) is helpful for your armor since you aren't focusing on your pet very much. Your pet will gain a 20% increase in armor and you will gain 10% of all the equipment your wearing that increases armor. Knowing this, we suggest hitting up an item Enhancement in the AH for 220 or more armor attached to your Chest piece. Then it is of course the Glove Reinforcements (+240).
We noticed that after talking with several Hunters that many of them never realize the chance to wear mail armor. Once you hit around level 40 you can travel to Iron-forge and train for mail armor. If you thought leather working was good, wait until you throw on a few greenies and bluzies in the mail area.
You should put everything together, which will have you powerleveling from level 40 to level 80 in record times. Best of luck!
