Saving Gold In WotLK

Prior to, we made a discussion to find some tactics that will give you an edge on leveling to 80. Now we will answer the question of how much gold you should bring into Wrath of the Lich King.
It expected that you have sold off all that useless junk just sitting in your banks, the process should net you a decent amount of wow gold depending on what you liquidated. Now the question that people keep asking is how much gold does one need in Wrath of the Lich King. Well short answer is not much, the game is designed so you can quest and grind mobs to make gold easily. This should be just enough to cover the basics like repairs, food, and general leveling. So if you are flat broke, no worries, you will be able to manage. However for those of us who do have a decent supply of gold, we are able to hop off the Northrend air ships and begin a small spending spree. Let's take a look at how much you will be spending as soon as you get to Northrend. Please keep in mind prices are of the latest beta build, however prices may change once live.
Of course this is a small amount that allows you to purchase the entry level things in Wotlk. When you start questing, the gold you make will usually cover all your basics all the way to level 80. It has been estimated that just by leveling and questing to 80, you are going to make 5000-10,000g. More or less you can run instances, sell mats on the auction house, disenchant Bind on equip gear for profit, pick up lots of vendor trash and so on. This amount should take care of you till your level 80. We suggest you should try to ignore expensive enchants, gems, and items until you hit 80, where it actually matters.
Before Wotlk, many people have nothing to do besides random achievements. You can avail yourself with this time to do some of the daily quests for some extra gold. If you do 25 quests with an average of 12g per quest, you will have made over 2000g. This isn't even included all the vendor trash, quest rewards, and other various items you will pick up along the way. Make sure you have lots of bag room for all that vendor trash. We know people who lug around everything in their inventory all the time, your really missing out on all the random junk you can sell for gold. It's free world of warcraft gold. All you have to do is make some room in your bags. If you really don't have the room, you may at least pick up all the grey weapons and armor because they vendor for a lot more than the others.
This is the amount we are setting aside to help you level your professions. We don't plan on buying everything off the auction house since we will be getting various mats just from leveling. This will help you level your professions without having to do mindless farming of the new elementals or mobs. Most of this money will be going to leveling Leatherworking and Cooking
Level 80 raiding is a rough estimate of how much we will be spending on entry level raiding. This includes enchants, gems, gear, consumables, and repeated repairs. You may not even have to spend this much, the epic quality gear from level 80 Heroics have an item level of 200 and is on par with Naxx 10 man raid loot. Probably this much gold is on the higher end, as in being fully prepared. We know plenty of people that try to prepare for raiding by actually trying to get raid loot.
